Ducati Grandstand Mugello, the Mothership of Ducati passion...
A few years back when the Indy MotoGP was first announced, I was working with another Ducati club to organize a Ducati grandstand. We had visions of 300 seats and that’s what we initially asked the speedway staff to discuss but as our confidence in the turnout grew so did the grandstand.

Cal Crutchlow qualified a season best sixth for Ducati’s home Italian MotoGP at Mugello, aided by the debut of a revised engine.
Pramac's Andrea Iannone set a new MotoGP top speed record on Saturday morning, with Crutchlow and team-mate Andrea Dovizioso also impressed with the upgrade.
"We ran the new engine today. It's a rocket! No doubt about that,” said Crutchlow. “We're pleased to be able to take some advantage because we struggle in other areas. So to have a little bit of power to get out of trouble is good.
“The performance of the engine was supposed to make the bike a bit smoother but it doesn't seem to have done that. It seems to be very similar in that area, but in fifth and sixth gear it is going really well.

Today at Mugello, Valentino Rossi wore a helmet dedicated to pasta "The Vale". The graphics with rigatoni highlight that despite in his 20th year racing, Rossi is still competitive and does "not overcook ever!"
Also on the helmet are graphics of the ears and the curve Casanova Savelli - the curve of the left-right Mugello circuit where Rossi usually overcomes his competitors. On the back of the helmet the inevitable Bulldogs Caesar and Cecilia eating rigatoni from the bowl.
The cooking time of "The Vale" pasta are strictly 46 minutes! Helmet, rider and rigatoni are Made in Tavullia and are Italian product certificate.
So clever! More photos HERE on the Ducati.net Facebook Page

Former MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden will test a Panigale Superbike tomorrow at Mugello.
Hayden is known to have multiple choices for his riding services in 2014, with major offers from Ducati WSBK, Aprilia and LCR Honda. It's unclear if the Aprilia offer for Hayden is for MotoGP or WSBK.
Here's an idea - offer Nick Hayden a handful of wildcard rides, say the US rounds, and a couple others to seal the deal. Just saying...

A close moment at the start of Sunday's ItalianMotoGP at Mugello saw Cal Crutchlow lose touch with leaders Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez.
Crutchlow was forced to swerve to avoid front row starter Andrea Dovizioso (pictured), losing his momentum on the long run to the first corner in the process.
“I just lost out in the start of the race,” said Crutchlow. “As soon as Andrea got his start and wheelied into the side of me, then nearly wheelied off the back - we'd already lost near enough a couple of seconds in that"

According to GPOne.com the official press release is coming tomorrow…
Details are sparse but for a number of reasons including Biaggi’s lack of experience with the tires the test is merely for feedback in the quest to better the machine and has no possibility of a future program attached. It further suggests not to load the test with too many expectations.

Great wrap up of the weekend. Not specific Ducati content but it's a good analysis and includes some details about Andrea Dovizioso's race that were not well reported.

Cool behind the scene story on la Repubblica Firenze.it on the elaborate hospitality that Ducati (and many other teams) provide as part of the MotoGP travel weekend.
Here is a rough explanation of what it says:
Bresaola (meat) and white pasta, is the diet of champions seeking a championship. But the chefs here cook for Ducati racing every raceday for over 250 people, team and guests, a buffet that is much richer (see the photo above). (The riders eat for breakfast toast, then white pasta and bresaola and for dinner meat and vegetables)
