Cal Crutchlow broke out during the after race media scrum, also because of a difficult and even dangerous race. “I do not understand what there is to celebrate when you arrives almost thirty seconds off the front – he blurted out, referring to the fifth place of Dovizioso – even if it went better than last year there is very little to be happy with”.

Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team #35)
"My hand is getting better every day, but I still have some pain and it's definitely going to be difficult to ride this weekend. I'll try and see how it is from Friday and do the best job I can. Jerez is surely one of the toughest circuits to come back and ride at after my crash. It's a really great track, and the crowd are great as well, but really I'm just excited about joining up with the team again and getting back on the bike."

The Brits hand injury could hold him back from next weekends MotoGP round in Argentina.
Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow is questionable for the upcoming Argentine MotoGP next weekend due to a hand injury suffered in a crash during the Grand Prix of the Americas.
Crutchlow had issues with his rear tire last weekend at the Circuit of The Americas and had to pit in around nine laps into the race to change out the tire. For Crutchlow, it went from bad to worse when he crashed on the new tire and his leg got caught in the wheel, making for a very ugly, hard crash.

Ducati's Cal Crutchlow was coy when quizzed on speculation the manufacturer was set to enter the MotoGP 'Open' class but admitted he could see 'positives' in making the change.
Crutchlow was speaking on the first day of the official Sepang MotoGP test, where he tested both the GP13 and GP14 versions of the Desmosedici.
The British star jokingly dodged a question from reporters over the potential for a switch to the 'Open' rules this season, saying: “I know nothing about it. Is there an Open class?”

Not to put too fine a point on this but Spanish press reported Lorenzo having reached a "prelimaniry agreement", not just talking. That's the difference between killing your relationship with Yamaha vs just reminding them why they may wish to start talking earlier about a new contract...

"There would be nothing better than winning with Ducati" - Cal Crutchlow.
Part one of an exclusive interview with MotoGP star Cal Crutchlow, in which the Englishman talks to Crash.netabout his move to the Factory Ducati team for 2014.
Crutchlow finished fifth and the leading satellite rider in this year's world championship, claiming four podiums and two pole positions during his final season with Monster Yamaha Tech 3.
The Englishman then rode the Ducati Desmosedici for the first time in testing at Valencia earlier this month.
Ducati has not won a race since Casey Stoner departed at the end of 2010, but Crutchlow's arrival coincides with the appointment of former Aprilia racing boss Gigi Dall'Igna as the new general manager of Ducati Corse.

Britain's Cal Crutchlow will sling his leg over a Ducati MotoGP race bike for the first time at Valencia on Monday but says he isn't expecting to put in a lot of fast laps and may not test for all three days - but the Isle of Man resident added there would be a completely different bike for him at Sepang in February. - See more at: http://www.bikesportnews.com/news-detail.cfm?newstitle=MotoGP-Valencia:-Crutchlow-expecting-different-Ducati-at-Sepang&newsid=10882#sthash.UyDy8AH9.dpuf

Valentino Rossi believes Cal Crutchlow's chances of success at Ducati will depend largely on whether the Italian factory can 'raise the level' of its Desmosedici motorcycle.
Rossi endured the only winless seasons of his career at Ducati during 2011 and 2012, prompting a return to the official Yamaha team.

Cal Crutchlow says he simply had no other choice but to accept the biggest payday of his career to become the latest 'savior' for Ducati's troubled Desmosedici MotoGP project.
A two-year deal that will secure his financial future and a contract that guarantees his status as factory rider proved irresistible to the 27-year-old Briton.

Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team manager Herve Poncharal has paid tribute to outgoing MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow, following the British star's two-year deal to join the factory Ducati team.
Poncharal hailed the Coventry star as a 'special man and a special rider' and said he was sad Crutchlow was moving to pastures new at the end of this season.
“Cal has been fantastic with the whole team and we have had some great times. Cal is not only a Tech 3 rider but Cal is a Tech 3 member and there is a big difference and we will all miss that and that is going to be a big disappointment,” he said.

I like Cal too but this high praise brings to mind that Ducati might already have a similar skill set as Cal Crutchlow in Ben Spies, who did a pretty good job holding Cal at bay and hasn't really had a proper go at the Ducati yet. Having them both onboard in 2014 could be the excellent plan

The news that Cal Crutchlow has signed a two-year deal with Ducati led to howls of despair from MotoGP fans, especially among those in the UK. Why, they asked, would Crutchlow willingly leave the Tech 3 Yamaha team and the as-near-factory-as-possible M1 to take on the miserable task of taming the Ducati? Why throw away another year on a bike which he knows he can score podiums, and perhaps even wins on, in exchange for riding a bike which has been a proven failure since Casey Stoner last climbed off it and headed next door to the Repsol Honda garage? If Valentino Rossi, the biggest name and most politically powerful rider in motorcycle racing couldn't make the bike competitive, what chance does Crutchlow stand?

Cal Crutchlow wants current crew chief Daniele Romagnoli to join him at Ducati in 2014 but insists he will not decimate his side of the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team when he leaves to join the Bologna factory. The 27-year-old has penned a two-year deal with Ducati and key personnel from his current French-based Tech 3 squad have been linked with a switch to help him tame the struggling Desmosedici.

How did Ducati go from the first non-Japanese manufacturer to win a riders' title in over 30 years to no race wins in three seasons?
In 2007, at the dawn of the new 800cc era and five years after their return to Grand Prix racing, Ducati won the World Championship with Casey Stoner.
Since then, no-one but Stoner has brought the Desmosedici to victory and the team look far from adding to their one and only world title.
They have been accused of killing the career of Marco Melandri, and of nearly doing likewise to the untouchable Valentino Rossi.
