Steve McQueen still brings in a pretty penny at automobile auctions. The racing suit worn by the late actor in the 1971 film “Le Mans” sold for close to $1 million at an auction in Los Angeles.

Steve McQueen’s suit sold for $984,000, nearly twice as much as the DeLorean that was used in the Back to the Future films. The DeLorean was sold for $541,000.

The orange and blue striped suit, stitched with “Michael Delaney,” the name of McQueen’s character in the movie, was expected to sell for as much as $300,000, but the suit brought in more than three times more than the expected price.

The 1971 Porsche 911 that McQueen drove in the film only brought in slightly more money than the motorcycle suit. The Porsche sold for $1.3 million.
