Misano could be the right step to know the future of Nicky Hayden , who is getting closer and closer to get on the Aprilia Aspar team, while Aleix Espargaró is increasingly at loggerheads with his current team. The option of Honda with Lucio Cecchinello definitely seems to be shaded, and the boy of Kentucky would be close to reaching an agreement . Gino Borsoi, team manager of the Spanish team, strengthen contacts: " no use denying it, the drivers are the most attractive on the market Nicky and Aleix. Regarding Hayden, I think that between today and tomorrow we will know his future . "

“I know that once you leave MotoGP you don't normally come back” – Nicky Hayden.
Nicky Hayden's future continues to be at the centre of MotoGP paddock speculation.
Earlier in the summer Ducati announced that the American would not remain with the squad for 2014, with Cal Crutchlow subsequently confirmed, and since then there have been lots of rumours about where Hayden will ride.

With all of the prototype seats occupied for 2014 - barring a contractual bust up between Ducati and Ben Spies, which is only an expensive theoretical possibility at the moment - battle has commenced for the rest of the MotoGP seats regarded as being most competitive. While the factory bikes - the bikes in the factory and satellite teams being raced as MSMA entries - are all taken, the privateer machines - using Dorna spec ECU software and extra fuel - are still mostly up for grabs.

With the start of the summer break coming up in ten days time, contract negotiations are starting to hot up for the 2013 MotoGP rider market. The two race weekends at the Sachsenring and then Laguna Seca will see a frenzy of meetings, horse trading and secret talks as the few open MotoGP seats for 2014 get closer to be being filled.
The biggest problem facing riders looking to upgrade their seat is the scarcity of good seats available, both for 2014 and beyond. The Repsol Honda and Factory Yamaha teams are fully booked through the 2014 season, and even after that, it is hard to see them changing personnel. Jorge Lorenzo has shown he has the potential to win multiple championships for Yamaha, and Marc Marquez looks like doing much the same at Honda. Neither man is showing any intention of going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Wrinkly Rumours 2 - How Long is Rossi For MotoGP?
Two weeks ago, we exclusively broke the latest MotoGP rumor, gossip and fantasy analysis from Jerez via my unsurpassed network of aged GP groupies - who just happen to have very good connections in the Grand Prix world.
Fourteen days is a long time in GP racing and many things, it seems, have moved on. First, let me deal with the rumor which other, less well informed, fantasists are brokering: Cal Crutchlow riding a Suzuki.
Younger journalists, without the wrinkly connections, are writing about this as if it is a done deed and Crutchlow has already put pen to paper. This is utter, complete and total tosh and nonsense and not worthy of even a decent fantasy.

"I was able to adapt quickly to the Yamaha and I hope to do it with the Ducati."...
THERE has not been an official confirmation that Andrea Dovizioso will ride for factory Ducati next season, but the Italian has all but revealed that he will join the team.
Dovizioso took his fifth podium of the season with third place at Indianapolis and it is an open secret that he will be taking Valentino Rossi's departed seat at Ducati in 2013.
Speaking to GPOne after the race, he said: "No one likes to change, you usually look for stability, but I do not care. I was able to adapt quickly to the Yamaha and I hope to do it with the Ducati."

He could still find himself on a works-spec Desmosedici...
With the imminent announcement that Andrea Dovizioso has snaffled the remaining factory Ducati MotoGP seat from under the nose of Monster Yamaha team-mate Cal Crutchlow, the Britain looks to have a brace of options in the blue riband class.
First off, he can remain in the satellite Tech3 squad and partner fellow Brit and rookie Bradley Smith or the Coventry man may have the option to join a new initiative called the Junior Team, currently being evaluated by Ducati boss Alessandro Cicognani.
It would work along the same lines as Tech3 but have two factory-spec bikes in one team instead of Pramac running one and AB Cardion running another. It would also run under the watchful eye of the factory and carry out testing and development work.

Two years. And 'the duration of the contract that will bind Andrea Dovizioso Ducati. A decision in some ways obvious which could mean a decided change of trend-imposed by Audi - on the part of the team. Dovizioso had received an offer to the upside (with the remodeling of engagement guaranteed money from the sponsor's Monster) by the Tech 3 team and the confidence to have a Yamaha and the latest semi-official treatment.

Valentino Rossi's imminent return to Yamaha - to be announced on Friday morning, Yamaha and Ducati having been forced to move the schedule forward once news of the switch leaked - will accelerate the final movements in MotoGP's silly season, with the still open grid slots on prototype machines likely to be filled in very short order once the Rossi announcement has been made. Rossi's return to Yamaha will be heralded much as his departure from the factory for fresh pastures at Ducati was, only this time the roles will be reversed. First, Ducati will issue a release thanking Valentino Rossi for his time with the factory, and shortly after - minutes, rather than hours, - Yamaha will issue a press release welcoming Rossi back to the fold. The difference, perhaps, is that this time a love letter such as the one Rossi wrote to Yamaha after he left in the middle of 2010 is unlikely to be forthcoming.

Reports are starting to flow from many European media that Yamaha will announce the return of seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi on Wednesday, Aug. 15, as members of the paddock begin to gather at Indianapolis for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
There's a bit of irony in the rumored announcement date: It's the same date in 2010 when Ducati announced it was signing Rossi, shortly after the finish of the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno.
Rossi's defection is a stinging shot to Ducati and Audi.

It is a bit of a risk, announcing that Valentino Rossi will be switching to Yamaha just a couple of days after getting caught out by a hacked Twitter and email account. This time, though, confirmation is coming from multiple sources, including our own. Rossi will be leaving Ducati for Yamaha at the end of this season, with an official press release expected from Yamaha on the morning of August 15th, the Italian national holiday of Ferragosto, and the day before the paddock assembles at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
According to the Italian media, the decision was taken a few days after the US GP at Laguna Seca, a race which was typical of Rossi’s experience with the Ducati: slow during practice, unable to make progress during qualifying leaving him to start from 10th, and topped off with a crash at the top of the Corkscrew. Rossi crashed on lap 30, losing the front while braking and still almost upright. Unable to get any heat into the tire, the front tire looked almost new, despite having nearly the full race distance on it.

American MotoGP fans and fans of Nicky Hayden exhaled last week when Ducati announced it had signed The Kentucky Kid to a one-year contract for 2013 to continue riding for Ducati Corse.
Still, some wondered why Hayden was extended for just one year when his first two deals with Bologna were for two years apiece. It also was odd considering Ducati reportedly has proceeded deep into negotiations with Cal Crutchlow for a two-year deal starting next season.

One thing we've learned over the years is that if it's an official company press release, it's been edited.
Anyway, what we have found here is a complete post-race debrief of Valentino, in pure, unedited Valentino-speak “Italglish.” Really important for Ducati fans to read this, as The Man talks about his 2013 plans–will he stay or will he go?
We’ll start it of with the continuation of the official MotoGP release from this post.
“It’s a pity because we’ve had this problem for a long time and we are not able to fix.”
“Very difficult first half, probably worst than last year. It is very difficult to keep the concentration and enough power, physically but especially mentally, when you can fight for a not very important position.”

During his media de-brief today at Laguna Seca, Valentino Rossi said that Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio has come to Laguna Seca with Ducati's final offer for Rossi's riding services in 2013.
Paddock gossip suggests that the offer from Ducati is for $12 million Euro and includes that Rossi keeps his current crew and has space made available to him on the side of the Ducati for personal sponsorship.

Valentino Rossi at Laguna Seca moves between two oceans, the track comes up against the rocks of his Ducati paddock juggles between the sirens Yamaha, while the Audi wind tries to direct it towards the coasts of Borgo Panigale. A weekend in the past, present and future: the first is the call to return to Iwata, the second another disappointing 10 th time on the grid for the race, while the third is wrapped in mist much like those that darkened the circuit in the morning . " We went as Mugello, the same problems , "said the Doctor at the end of qualifying.
Yesterday seemed to be more positive.
" At the end you always hope that the next race will be better than the last, but f inche riusceremo not solve our problems just makes sense that change . "
Your time is three-tenths worse than last year, why?
" With this arrangement I am using, the only one that guarantees me to be consistent throughout the race, I can not use the soft tire . I have to put much weight on the rear to keep the tire and when I try to push for lap I do not have enough confidence nell'avantreno. The others, including Hayden, with the soft tires and new can improve a few tenths, not me. I also had some chattering problem with my favorite bike and I could not use it for the last out . "

MotoGP News. “Sincerely from my point of view, money is not very important” – Valentino Rossi.
Valentino Rossi will make a decision on whether to stay with Ducati or move back to Yamaha during the summer break that follows this weekend's US MotoGP round at Laguna Seca.
Although Rossi didn't mention Yamaha by name, the struggling seven time MotoGP champion confessed to having 'some other options' that he needs to consider.
While any chance of a Repsol Honda return is over, following the signing of Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez, Ben Spies' surprise announcement of a Yamaha exit officially opens the door to a possible Factory M1 return alongside Jorge Lorenzo.
“The situation is quite clear. I still haven't decided, as it is a bit too early,” said Rossi, winless since leaving Yamaha at the end of 2010.
“I have spoken a lot with Ducati about next year, but still waiting about some important ties and some important things on the contract. And I also have some other options for next year.
