If Ferrari were to return to Le Mans, who would drive the car? Mark Webber thinks Valentino Rossi and Fernando Alonso would be right for the job.
This might be my favorite rumor to come out of 2013. This would almost have to be a post retirement situation since no manufacturer would let a contracted racer compete for another company regardless of how many wheels they used...

This morning I got up at 3:30 am to watch the warmup of the MotoGP race from France live. To be honest, as passionate as I am about the sport and the Ducati brand I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that the last couple of seasons have been hard to watch. And that’s from the outside which is, lets be honest, nothing like being on the inside and taking it on the chin every day. So the 3:30 am ritual for the Euro rounds has been less and less appealing, in the battle of sleep vs race fan, sleep has been winning....

It was more of the same for Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso with none of the problems he experienced in testing and at Qatar going away for the Austin MotoGP round but the Italian rider confirmed that he and team-mate Nicky Hayden would get new parts for Le Mans.

The start of Sunday's wet French MotoGP saw several riders struggle visibly for grip off the line, illustrated most dramatically by an accident for Randy de Puniet.
Ben Spies also got sideways, who also got sideways, felt it was the finish line paint that caused the loss of traction. But fellow American Nicky Hayden - whose Ducati was sent fishtailing - believes there must have been something present only on the pitlane side of the racetrack...For the rest of this article, click on the headline above.

(AGI) Le Mans- Ducati and Valentino Rossi will "try to do better in Le Mans" the Moto GP pilot stated. The team has encountered rain on every day of training and race except Qatar and hopes for clear weather in Le Mans to continue their work on the GP12. Post-race tests were cancelled in Portugal due to bad weather and Valentino Rossi will be back in action next Friday on the track he dominated last year, utilizing the assets used in Estoril and with the aim to improve upon the recent seventh place. "It was a shame to lose the post-race tests in Portugal because on the one hand we would have continued our development and on the other, having the recent references from the race, we could have discovered interesting results," said Rossi. "However the whole thing doesn't change much for Le Mans from a technical point of view since hypothetical updates would have been made later" he added. "In France we'll prepare the race by working on the motorcycle as we did in Estoril, starting from the fact that now we have a little more knowledge and then proceed by developing the machine bit by bit, in order to reach Sunday at the top of our potential.
