Four times world champion superbike racer Carl Fogarty is expecting Tom Sykes to overtake his superpole record – and he couldn’t be happier.
The legend from Blackburn, who won the world superbike championship titles in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999 riding for Honda and Ducati, clocked up 21 pole positions during his career, but Huddersfield racer Sykes is closing in fast.

SUPERBIKE legend Carl Fogarty will tell stories from his career when he rounds off his third UK chat show tour at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn on January 17.
Fogarty, from Blackburn, is revered after winning the World Superbike Championship on four occasions and is embarking on another tour alongside good friend and former British champion James Whitham.
The ‘Foggy and Whit: Givin’ It Gas’ tour was a sell-out in both 2010 and 2011 and they will now do six new dates around England.

THE Ducati 996 that Carl Fogarty retained his World Superbike championship in 1998 has gone up for sale on carandclassic.co.uk.
With two seasons without championship gold, 1998 saw Foggy return to championship glory. The season wasn't plain sailing and is noted as one of the British legend's closely fought titles, as in the midway point he was sixth in the standings, but through a consistent podium run overhauled Troy Corser and Aaron Slight in the final round at Sugo, Japan.
