Casey Stoner will attend the next MotoGP race set for April 11-13 at Austin. The former World Champion is expected on race-day but he could arrive earlier. It will be the second time, after his retirement, that he visits the paddock, the first time having been last October on occasion of “his” Phillip Island GP, when Carmelo Ezpeleta inducted him as a MotoGP Legend.

Circuit of The Americas (CoTA) is excited to announce that spectators can now enjoy the once exclusive privilege of hanging out in the MotoGP paddock.
More details here on what is included. There seems to be some paddock pass only entertainment besides the usual "better team access" for your $150...
MotoGP could be set for a winter testing restricting this off-season after weather hampered this offseason’s testing. Dorna and IRTA had originally planned to moved the now infamous test that traditionally takes place in the week after the final round of the season from Valencia to Jerez or Aragon.
IRTA secretary Mike Trimby has revealed that both Qatar are Texas will be considered as potential Jerez replacements, but also Philip Island.
Everything is bigger in Texas, or so goes the saying. Circuit of The Americas certainly meets that criteria: 3.4 miles in length, 20 turns, an elevation gain of 133 feet and its .745-mile front straight is the longest on the MotoGP calendar. After the final qualifying session for April’s inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, I asked Longview native Ben Spies for his view of this new race circuit.
• “I hate to say it, but Turn 1 is a very dangerous corner for a start. It’s a good corner for racing, but with the shape of the turn, the way the right line is supposed to be for a start, if somebody messes up a tiny bit, you could take out a lot of people—like the first chicane at Monza....
We’re here and it’s been a good day. Flights on time, even an upgrade on the long leg and the first friendly face we see when we get off the airplane is Nicky Hayden. The thumbs up in the photo, that for you.
A quick trip to the Circuit of the America’s leaves me with a few impressions. The first is the Ducati grandstands are incredible. The location is certain to make those that are sitting there very happy. It’s like the view from space....

Ducati Austin in collaboration with Dainese is excited to host an afternoon with 1993 World Champion and Texas Legend #34 Kevin Schwantz. The Texan native will be special guest of the day Thursday April 18th at the Ducati Austin store.
Kevin Schwantz is one of the most celebrated racers from what many considered the fiercest period of international motorcycle competition. The Bikes were 500cc two-stroke beasts and the riders were among the best of all times. Schwantz battled mightily against the likes of Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and Mick Doohan. The latter described Schwantz “as the fastest person he ever raced.” Schwantz racked up 25 MotoGP wins total in his career.
