Storm In A Tea Cup: How A Recycled Interview Reignited The Rossi vs Stoner Wars | MotoMatters.com

There is no rivalry in MotoGP more bitter than that between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner, more bitter even than the one between Wayne Rainey and Kevin Schwantz. It has been a constant element in their relationship since Stoner won his first MotoGP title in 2007 (ironically, Stoner named Rossi as one of his heroes on the t-shirt he wore to celebrate that championship), though hardly a surprise, as the two men are polar opposites in almost every respect, except for their prodigious talent. The rivalry has intensified over the years, stoked by a series of incidents (nicely outlined by the peerless Italian website GPOne.com recently), including the booing of Stoner by Rossi fans at Donington in 2008, the epic battle at Laguna Seca in 2008, and the war of words between the two in 2010, ahead of Rossi's move to Ducati....

Rossi Talks Yamaha, Stoner Talks Rossi | Cycle News

Rossi Talks Yamaha, Stoner Talks Rossi | Cycle News | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

SPEEDWAY, IN, AUG 16 - Ducati Marlboro's Valentino Rossi was always going to be the center of attention at the pre-race news conference for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix. But a widely circulated "interview" with world champion Casey Stoner (Repsol Honda) nearly stole the spotlight.

In an interview most widely seen on the website of England's Motorcycle News, Stoner was harsh in his criticism of both Rossi and crew chief Jeremy Burgess, and their inability to make the Ducati a proven race winner. Stoner didn't deny having made the comments, but he quickly pointed out that they weren't made en masse, as presented.

Last Ducati to win a MotoGP bids to 172,430 Euros at auction | Ducati.net

Last Ducati to win a MotoGP bids to 172,430 Euros at auction | Ducati.net | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

Casey Stoner’s 2010 MotoGP Ducati that won the Australian GP was bid to 172,430 euros at auction today in Monaco. The last Ducati to win a MotoGP race was being offered directly by Ducati for sale with a pre-auction estimate of 300 – 350,000 euros. No confirmation if reserve was met. It’s highly unusual for “current” factory GP bikes still sporting at least some top secret electronics and technology to be offered for sale, and the two offered in Monaco today came with numerous strings attached. Buyers interested in the two bikes were encouraged to contact the RM auction legal department before hand to review the contract in advance. Motegi MotoGP: Seventh maximum potential, admits Valentino Rossi | MCN | Desmopro News | Scoop.it
Valentino Rossi says he could have not ridden any faster or put in any extra effort after he ended the Grand Prix of Japan at the Twin Ring Motegi in a lonely and distant seventh.

The Italian said finishing a massive 26 seconds behind race winner Dani Pedrosa was the maximum potential his factory Ducati GP12 has, with a lack of rear grip under acceleration remaining the Desmosedici’s biggest weakness.

Valentino Rossi, Scatto 1,2,3,4 – The Photographer Challenge | Ducati.net | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

Periodically, (and every race weekend lately) Valentino Rossi has tweeted a selection of photographs that he likes from a group his preferred photographers. These are photos that portray him in the light he chooses and tend to be beautiful and we think often somewhat romantic – small dreamy images at a distance, pensive shots in the garage, happy shots, clowning around shots – he posts whatever appeals to him. Having recently experienced the frenzy of photographers that happens whenever Valentino Rossi shows his face we can appreciate the level of skill a photographer must have to shoot in these conditions and earn this sort of access. These photographers – Stefano Taglioni, Callo Albanese, Gigi Soldano and Tino Martino are at the top of the game.
