The hard front wasn't getting up to temperature, he believes
Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi says Bridgestone’s hard compound wet tyres were at fault for the MotoGP free practice crash-fest at Misano today with the accident tally going into double figures and The Doctor himself going down this morning. Rossi crashed on the brakes with zero degress of lean angle and it was an accident replicated throughout the field. Andrea Iannone and Pol Espargaro had the same crash in turn one within second of each other, and Rossi said it is down to the tyres. - See more at: http://www.bikesportnews.com/news-detail.cfm?newstitle=MotoGP-Misano:-Bridgestone-at-fault-for-crashes---Rossi&newsid=12983#sthash.oihGY2UD.dpuf

MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi insists he doesn’t regret his decision to join Ducati..
Rossi, who had won seven titles with Honda and Yamaha, saw an all-Italian dream turn into a nightmare with just three podiums during two seasons on the Desmosedici.
In an interview with the official MotoGP website Rossi is quoted as saying it was a mistake to go to Ducati, but felt his words have been misunderstood.

The Ducati Superbike Team made an extremely positive start to its ‘home’ race weekend at the Misano World Circuit today; thanks to a very fast final lap at the session’s end, Davide Giugliano projected himself into overall first place, with teammate Chaz Davies concluding the first day of action in fourth position.

It’s hard not to love Misano World Circuit. Located in between the Adriatic Sea and the Republic of San Marino about one and a half hours from Bologna, it’s iconic, well kept, well run and just the right size for walking around. Considered a home circuit for Ducati, the Italian brand’s history is thick here. So when I heard the track was organizing a three day vintage event called the Misano Classic Weekend it got my attention – I figured it was safe to expect a great turnout of interesting Italian machines and with a mini Motogiro event attached to it. I’m not going to lie, the siren call of riding around the Italian countryside on a vintage Ducati was crazy appealing. I sent in my entry and headed straight there from Barber Vintage Festival....

Following Sunday's San Marino MotoGP an official test session was held at the Misano circuit on Monday.
Rookie title leader Marc Marquez recovered from a small fall to post the fastest lap time in the final minutes, taking the top spot from Sunday's race winner Jorge Lorenzo by 0.238s.
Marquez had set the pace earlier in the day, before Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and then Lorenzo moved to the head of the timesheets. Lorenzo led the test from 3pm onwards, until Marquez's late lap.
As well as most of the existing race teams, Suzuki was also on track, continuing preparations for its 2015 return.

Apart from a brief morning rain shower today, the test was marked by good weather, enabling the riders to focus their work, which consisted mainly of carrying out frame comparisons. They also tried some engine developments and looked for a base setup for the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, which will take place at this track in September.
Andrea Dovizioso - Ducati Team (105 laps)
“The Misano track is a bit inconsistent for our bike, but coming from Assen, we immediately felt a bit better at this circuit. We worked on the current bike, finding a setup for the Misano race, and then we went ahead with the development of the laboratory bike, trying some new stuff and finding some interesting things. We were able to do nearly two full days of good work, and today we tried a change with the frame. There were some positives, like an improvement with the feeling on corner entry. We must decide what to do; it’s a new part, so we have to understand whether or not we can have it in time for the Sachsenring.”
Nicky Hayden - Ducati Team (158 laps)
“It’s certainly been a useful couple of days. We didn’t make any drastic improvements, but I tried something with a different anti-wheelie solution that worked quite well, and I’m happy about that for the next two tracks, which are maybe the worst two circuits for wheelies on the whole calendar. We lost a bit of time today with the rain, but in the end I did a low 1:34. That’s not a bad lap time, although we’ll certainly have to do better than that when we come here for the race. We did a lot of laps, mainly with the wheelie control and a different fork setting, and we got some good information.”

With World Ducati Week, the Ducati Riding Experience and the Troy Bayliss Academy all happening at the Misano World Circuit in Italy last summer, it became impossible to resist the urge to book a flight to Bologna so that I could participate in all the cool events taking place.
While all the celebrations and good times at WDW are something to look forward to, the top of my list was getting track time on the Panigale S at one of the greatest circuits in the world.

That was a chaotic weekend. Two-and-a-half days lost to rain, then a bizarre series of hold ups and incidents on the start of the MotoGP grid that ended up eventually going a long way to deciding the championship. Fortunately for the series, the MotoGP race was preceded by two scintillating support races, and then the MotoGP race itself saw two very popular podiums.
To start with the biggest issue, the start and then the restart of the MotoGP race. There was a lot of confusion and head-scratching over what was going on - the riders had never seen the flashing amber lights on the starting panels, for one - but when the dust settled, it looked like everything had been run almost by the numbers, despite the protests from Dani Pedrosa's camp.

Ducati Team’s Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden and test-rider Franco Battaini remained at the Misano track following yesterday’s GP to undertake a one-day private test, with all riders citing positive results.
American Hayden was first out on track, despite still nursing an injured right hand, which he raced with the day before. He went out both on his race-machine, and on the new bike, which Rossi used to get his second podium of the season. The new machine, featuring a new chassis and swingarm, received positive feedback from Hayden, despite him not being able to do a long run due to considerable pain in his hand. He did however state that as he has already been using a stiffer swingarm than Rossi recently, the main change came from the chassis. Improved braking and corner entry where some of the positives he highlighted, yet stated that for Aragón he still needed a few adjustments to the frame and potentially new front springs. Test rider Battaini continued the test on Hayden’s second bike.

On an event-filled day at the GP di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini, Valentino Rossi had his best race so far aboard the Desmosedici. In sunny and warm conditions, the Italian made it to the second step of the podium, having ridden at a pace that was second only to that of the winner, Jorge Lorenzo. The first start was cancelled, but Rossi enjoyed a great getaway when the red lights went out for the second time, and he exited the first turn in second place. From there, he held off attacks from first Stefan Bradl and then Alvaro Bautista before taking the chequered flag.
