A field of 18 rare and significant Ducati’s will appear at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance on March 10, 2013, led by the seminal “Cucciolo” that, in 1946, began Ducati’s rise to the pinnacle of motorcycle excellence and success. Ducati is the fourth motorcycle marque to be honored by “The Amelia” with a one class display on the concours field of The Golf Club at Summer Beach.
This event takes place March 10th during the first weekend of Daytona bike week just over an hour North of Daytona Beach. It's a beautiful event and a perfect start for Daytona Bike Week for anyone who appreciates Ducati Unobtanium...

JAPAN does bike shops better than anywhere else in the world – massive superstores selling droolworthy bikes and kit that you won't see for sale anywhere else.
It turns out they do promotions better than most, too – as shown by this custom Ducati Desmosedici RR, which has just been given away to a customer of the massive Yellow Corn shop.

There never was an 848R, or S or SP. Ducati just made the 848 and then tweaked it by adding Brembo monobloc brakes and a slightly more powerful motor to produce the 848 EVO.
The owner of this 848 has really gone to town, billing his bike as an 848R. It's a really good effort and if you want a stand-out bike then this is a contender.

THE internet has been awash with supposed details of the Ducati Desmosedici GP12 revealed by Karel Abraham's Cardion AB team – but most sites reporting this 'news' have failed to spot that this bikeisn'tthe same as the new Ducati that Rossi and Hayden will be campaigning this year.
While Cardion will be using a beam-framed, 1000cc Desmosedici, it's going to be the intermediate-specification 'GP0' test bike tested by Rossi, Hayden and Abraham last year. With Ducati claiming it's works 2012 Desmosedici is 90 percent new, and yet to reveal any details or pictures, it's unlikely to share more than a few general similarities with Abraham's satellite bike.

THE only growing motorcycle sector in 2011 was the Adventure Sport sector, according to stats released by the Motorcycle Industry Association.
Adventure Sport motorcycle sales totalled 10,570 units in 2011, compared to 9,308 units in 2010, an increase of 13.6%.
However, Adventure Sport sales are still behind outright Supersport sales, with 12,851 Supersport machines sold in 2011, the market was down 9.9% on 2010, where 14,257 units were sold.
The figures look bleak, with less people buying new machines, but certainly the trend appears to be leaning toward the Adventure sector.
