Andrea Dovizioso's first press conference as a Ducati rider began with a joke: "This season I've never had so many journalists in my garage, even if you added up all the races together." Despite rain falling throughout the day, the Italian rider still covered a healthy 41 laps at Valencia: "It was important to start out well, and we did that. I immediately felt comfortable in the wet, and I'm happy with best lap time; it's better than what I did during the race weekend. Even Hayden, who was fast in the wet this weekend, wasn't too far ahead."

 Nicky Hayden is ready to contest the final round of the 2012 season before turning his attention to 2013 during the post-race test session on Tuesday.
"We have a couple of small updates to try, but it takes time to prepare new parts - the Kentucky Kid said - The new bike should be ready for the Jerez or Sepang tests. I don't know Dovizioso very well, but he's very experienced and I'm expecting some good ideas from him as a teammate. I'm also curious to see how the GP12 performs at this track with the new asphalt. It should be better than Phillip Island, where the bumps were a big problem for us."

Ducati is welcoming several new faces into their MotoGP family, and among them is Andrea Iannone, aka 'Crazy Joe.' The Italian sealed up his seat on the Pramac team when he set a lap of 1'48.3 at Mugello while testing the D16. It was a tenth faster than Valentino Rossi's best race lap on the same bike.
