Barbera back for Misano Moto | eurosport.com

Barbera back for Misano Moto | eurosport.com | Ductalk | Scoop.it
Hector Barbera will return to the satellite Pramac Ducati squad at the forthcoming San Marino Grand Prix.

The Spaniard broke his leg six weeks ago in a training accident, and was forced to sit out Laguna Seca as a consequence.

He attempted to make his MotoGP return in the following grand prix at Indianapolis, but in first practice he fell heavily at Turn 16 and had to be stretchered off.

Having also been forced to miss Brno, the 25-year-old says he is ready - even if not completely fit – to return at Misano.

"I'm really excited that I'll ride this weekend on this amazing track," Barbera said. "I have a lot of good memories about Misano, especially from 2009 when I won in the middle class.

"Obviously this year it is a different situation. I didn't ride for six weeks, but I made a big effort to be ready to race this weekend and the only thing I thought about during the rehabilitation was to be back on my Ducati as soon as I could.

Barberá storms to first premier-class front row at Italian GP | motogp.com ·

Barberá storms to first premier-class front row at Italian GP | motogp.com · | Ductalk | Scoop.it
Pramac Racing Team’s Héctor Barberá put in a great effort during qualifying for the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM at Mugello today, as he put his satellite Desmosedici third on the grid for the first time in his premier-class career.

The Spanish rider was ecstatic with his performance at the Tuscan track: "It's the first time I’m on the front row and I'm very happy because this year we have four Yamahas and four Hondas on the grid that are very difficult to beat. And our bike is not official; it’s a satellite machine. But the team is at a very high level and has worked very well this weekend. I am very satisfied."

The Valencian rider did his best lap today without sticking to the rear wheel of another rider, and has taken the opportunity to silence some of his rivals, who accuse him of always looking to benefit from the slipstream of others. "The riders that have spoken out have winning bikes, yet I have a bike that has had no changes since I got it last November. It has never evolved," Barberá pointed out.

Barbera Happy With Pramac Ducati Race Pace | CheckeredFlag.com

Barbera Happy With Pramac Ducati Race Pace | CheckeredFlag.com | Ductalk | Scoop.it
Hector Barbera feels he has a good race package underneath him if first practice is any indication for the rest of the weekend...

The Spaniard was ninth fastest on Thursday evening and was the second of the Ducatis behind Nicky Hayden.

Barbera was pleased with his race pace but accepts that he has work to do to get the GP12 where he wants it over a single lap.

“I’m happy with how we are working on during the free practice of today. I had a good feeling with my Ducati and we had a good race pace. We had a few small issues with the front tyre that took quite a lot of time out of our session today. We made several runs to test both the hard and the soft tyres, but the general situation didn’t improve. However we are confident on the work done and we should be able to change the situation.”

Pramac Racing team manager Francesco Guidotti agreed with his rider and feels they have a good base to work from....more here: http://www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2012/04/barbera-happy-with-pramac-ducati-race-pace/
