Are You the Ducati Desmosedici GP13?

Are You the Ducati Desmosedici GP13? | Ductalk | Scoop.it

UPDATE: Nope, according to Italian TV’s Gudio Meda, it is a model built from leftover parts of the GP3 & GP7. For those picking out those design elements, good eye!

While the official launch of the Ducati Desmosedici GP13 is supposed to be tomorrow, the folks atGPinside have seemingly snagged this photo of the GP13 at the 2013 Wrooom event that Ducati co-hosts with Scuderia Ferrari. While the livery appears relative unchanged, there are several noticeable changes to the Desmosedici GP13, namely the skinnier tail section.

Our eyes also spot changes to the exhaust system, with a much shorter side-pipe, and what appears to be a larger undertail cannister. The fairings have also been refined from their previous shape, and give away a figure that’s longer than the GP12 (shown after the jump), with noticeably fewer side vents...

Vicki Smith for Ducati.net's insight:

Whatever it is, it's closer to the 1199 Panigale they showed last year.  Wrooom roll outs are a tough tradition to uphold, when the bike and team are in steep transition with a test looming....

DejaView | Motorcycle Classics.com | Easy Rider on a 1966 Ducati Monza 250 | Ductalk | Scoop.it

This picture was taken in the fall of 1969. The bike is a 1966 Ducati Monza 250, and it was my first “real” motorcycle. I bought it brand new in early 1966 for $695 cash — no tax, no dealer prep or any of the other fees we pay today....

DejaView | Motogiro America | Monterey, CA 2008 | Ducati.net "You Were There" Gallery | Ductalk | Scoop.it

After literally years of being asked when would the US have it's own Motogiro d'Italia they finally built it and I, like just about everybody else I knew, was signed up and ready to ride. Conducted under the umbrella of The MEET at Monterey which included a bike show, an auction, the Motogiro America and the RedBull MotoGP at Laguna Seca, there was lots to do and see. The route included the start on Cannery Row, a lap of Laguna Seca, then down thru Big Sur to Paso Robles and back to Monterey. The whole thing kicked off with a bike show in the Monterey Custom House Plaza, and while the headliners were pristine restorations from noted collectors, many of the entries would be heading out the following day for the 5 day ride. Back in the 60's and 70's Berliner Motor Corporation, the US Importer for Ducati, was also the importer for Norton (and Zundapp as well as Metzler tires)  This dual manufacturers ad would of course, be unheard of today.......

hris Barber sent in a few photos of the now completed DesmoHarley, his own unique Harley Davidson engine with Ducati heads, and it is a beauty. A few weeks ago when we introduced you to his project, the drawings were all we could see. Since that time Chris put it all together and it's the kind of thing that gets a motorhead all twitchy just looking at it!

DejaView - Motorcycle Tires: Pressure - Dial it in - Scott Lian

DejaView - Motorcycle Tires: Pressure - Dial it in - Scott Lian | Ductalk | Scoop.it

Tire pressure is a critical "setting" for any bike, on the street or on the track. At the track, motorcycle tires and their pressures can be used like any other adjustment on your bike to change your bike's handling characteristics. If you need a little more grip, drop the pressure in the rear. If you want longer life, run a little more pressure. So long as you're within the tire manufacturers' suggested pressure ranges, "tuning" tires to your liking is just another tool in your riding arsenal....More
