This starts ride from several corners of New England and met for an excellent BBQ lunch at Curtis' BBQ in Putney VT. This is an excellent place to hang out and chat with your fellow Ducati enthusiasts. Riders of other makes are welcome too, it will give us a chance to show them the light . Tribuna. The literal translation is “grandstand” but the word seems to have evolved from Roman times when a Tribunal was a raised platform for addressing the troops or administering justice. Find yourself in the middle of Tribuna Mugello (or any other jam packed Ducati grandstand) and you’ll see just how short that string is back to Roman times. It starts the first time the Ducati Corse riders pass on the track the first session of the weekend and the Ducati passion crescendo rises as the race day gets closer. On Sunday it all steps up a notch when the Desmodromiclub of Roma steps in to oversee the over the top display of Ducati love the tribuna Mugello is so famous for, the card stunt. It’s something different every time, but it’s always a grand gesture, a literal embrace from thousands of Ducati fans to their riders and the world. It all started at Mugello but now they take place at many of the races and the grandstand at the IndyGP is actually called the Project Mugello grandstand, named that because at Indy we wanted to do a card stunt that would make the Italians proud. Recently Ducati.net attended a Ducati club President worldwide gathering in Italy and got a chance to meet and share ideas with club Presidents from all around the world. It’s an interesting group of people, mostly men of course but there are a few women and they tend to stand out. (Less than 2% of Ducati clubs in the world are led by women). We saw this photo and asked for the back story. This is what the club told us…. The article this photo was taken for, was made as one of several media stories about a female Ducati Club president in Norsk Ducatiforening Desmodromene (Norwegian Association Ducati Desmodromene). Her name is Vibeche Tveit (2nd from the left) and her project is to present the Ducati environment in such a way that it appears attractive also for female Ducati owners. As anybody that has attended IndyGp over the last few years knows, the Ducati scene there is significant and Ducati.net is proud to have been part of making that happen. This year, the Indy Desmo Owners Club has stepped up and taken on the traditional Friday night Ducati owners dinner and partnering with the town of Speedway, taken the Friday night event to an all new level. Just across from the racetrack, ”Sprockets On Speedway” takes place on Friday evening, August 17th and in partnership with the Speedway Chamber of Commerce will feature an amazing collection of motorcycles and Ferrari’s. Dawson’s on Main will be the hub of the layout, which showcases the incredible new Dallara IndyCar Factory, the Indy Racing Experience and Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing. Ducati Motorcycling enthusiasts from around New England - and as far away from New York - came to Concord for a motorcycle rally last week to celebrate what they feel is the artistic superiority of their machines. Held at the Sunoco station on Loudon Road, dozens of Ducati owners came to eat, socialize and brag about their bikes in preparation for riding the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. Ted Gooch of Northwood, president of New England Desmo Owners, hosted the event. Gooch explained that Desmo is another name for Ducati, a nickname created after the special valves on the bike. We are gathering on Saturday, June 9, 10:30AM at North America’s premier Ducati dealership, Pro Italia, located in the heart of Glendale, CA at 3319 N. Verdugo Rd.
To start things off we will be treated to a technical overview on the latest Ducati Superbike, the Panigale. This superbly crafted performance Ducati icon was named as a tribute to the home of the Ducati factory which is located in the Borgo Panigale region of Bologna, Italy.
Pro Italia is then having a Bar-B-Q and a raffle, followed by ride at 1:30PM up the Angeles Crest highway and over to Newcomb’s ranch.
Come and meet the stunning Miss LA Ducati, Crystal Mendez and have your picture taken with your favorite ride.

Information on the CADRE Fall event - Ducs on the River... Where: Marietta, Ohio When: September 21st through 23rd, 2012 Registration deadline: August 15th, 2012 Cost: $30.00, plus hotel Please join us on September 21st through the 23rd as we explore all that Southeast Ohio has to offer! We will start the weekend with a Friday arrival in the beautiful river town of Marietta, Ohio for a weekend of desmo fun. Saturday morning we will depart for a ride through the Southeast Ohio countryside, Saturday evening we will get together over an Italian dinner. On Sunday we will pack up and head for home. We will be staying at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta. Opened in 1918 it's one of the few remaining riverboat-era hotels. The rooms have views of the Ohio or Muskingum Rivers. The ride route, provided by RoadRUNNER Magazine, will take us through Southeast Ohio, along the Muskingum and Ohio Rivers and through the Wayne National Forest. Although there's plenty of photo opportunities along the route, it does require your full attention as it is an undulating, twisty romp through Washington County....more
