Police in Glendale, Calif., ended up in a two-hour high-speed chase after burglars stole thousands of dollars worth of riding gear from Pro Italia Saturday morning.

Two suspects were arrested several communities south of Glendale, in Hawthorne, according to the Glendale News-Press. The suspects in custody were identified only as Hispanic males, and were scheduled to be booked at Glendale City Jail. A third suspect remains at large. BEL AIR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are searching for a pair of thieves who broke into a Bel Air home in the middle of the night, tied up the home owner and made off with two valuable motorcycles

That home invasion robbery took place about 4:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Linda Flora Drive.

Police said the suspects kicked in the front door and tied up the man, a longtime collector of vintage cars and motorcycles.

The man's wife was able to get away and went to a neighbor's house to call police.

Police said the suspects knew exactly what they were after. They went straight for the two vintage motorcycles valued at more than $1.5 million.

One of the motorcycles was a rare 1914 yellow Cyclone. The other was a 1952 gray and red Kawasaki....more

For months, savvy residents at downtown and Brickell high-rises have been on the lookout for the "White Van Gang." The criminals get their nickname from their favorite method: driving a white van into condo parking garages, loading up as many motorcycles as they can fit into the back, and then calmly driving off with the loot.

The thefts are on the rise as condo towers fill up -- and because many garages are guarded by little more than easily lifted mechanical arms. Some residents complain managers won't pony up for stronger gates, while police say without better safeguards, the thefts are tough to stop. At least one condo manager, though, says understaffed police are to blame for the crime wave....More on the headline link above
