MotoGP has lost a yardstick for the sport with the retirement of Casey Stoner, according to new factory Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso. The Italian said the Australian dual world champion was one of the greatest innovators of the elite series. Stoner retired last year after becoming disenchanted with the sport and is set to race V8 Supercars this year.

Italian MotoGP rivals Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso aren't feeling holiday cheer toward each other. Dovizioso flew to Argentina last week to participate in ceremonies announcing the return of the World Championship to that country starting in 2013 at the Circuito Termas de Rio Hondo. During a wide-ranging interview with regional media, Dovi said he expected Rossi to continue to struggle next season with Ducati. Word got back to Rossi about Dovi's barb, and The Doctor responded quickly on the most favored platform for pissing matches between athletes and celebrities these days, Twitter....... click on link above for the rest...
