Once was enough for nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, who was wearing a D-air Racing suit when he fell at Mugello in 2010, breaking his lower leg. “It was quite a crash!” Rossi admitted. “But apart from the injury to my leg, I was surprised to find I didn’t even have any bruising on my shoulder the day afterward.”
In fact, leg protection is the likely next frontier. The late Marco Simoncelli had tested a version of the current suit that was fitted with hip and leg bladders.
Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider Blake Young wore a custom D-air Racing suit to victory at the final race of the AMA Pro American SuperBike series atNew Jersey Motorsports Park last fall. “When I put the suit on for the first time,” he said, “I was thinking to myself, ‘Is it going to be heavy?’ It wasn’t. ‘Is it going to fit right?’ It fit like all my other Dainese suits—comfortable as ever. In the first race, I didn’t get the result that I wanted, so going into the second race, I thought, ‘Well, maybe I’ll show Dainese how their suit works!’ I definitely took some chances and got the win. I was glad to be riding in the D-air suit.”...more

  Dainese & AGV in 2012 Motorcycle Racing The 2012 season is about to start.

The 2012 season is about to start. Dainese & AGV have decided to invest in a group of talented riders and confirm their participation in the racing world at international level.

Dainese will be dressing the Ducati Corse riders in the MotoGP class: Valentino Rossi, a long-time Dainese spokesman and AGV ambassador and, for the second year running, the US rider and 2006 world champion, Nicky Hayden.

Mattia Pasini and Danilo Petrucci, both Italian MotoGP riders, this year continue their cooperation with the Dainese & AGV team. Stefan Bradl, who has moved up from Moto2 to MotoGP, is also riding for the red devil.

In the Moto2 class, Dainese & AGV sponsor four riders: Simone Corsi and Pol Espargarò, already members of the team, and Andrea Iannone and Gino Rea, new entries this year. All four are equipped with the D-air® Racing system. Once again this year, AGV will be sponsoring the Como rider, Claudio Corti.

In the Moto3 class, Dainese & AGV sponsor: Luis Salom, equipped with the D-air® Racing system, Romano Fenati, Alessandro Tonucci, Luigi Morciano and the entire Italia FMI Team, and Niccolò Antonelli of the Gresini Team. Always in the Moto3 class, an agreement has been signed with the Mahindra Racing Team to sponsor the riders Danny Webb and Marcel Schroetter (Dainese & AGV) and all the staff of the Indian team.

In the World Superbike class, Dainese continues to sponsor 2010 world champion, Max Biaggi, together with riders Leon Haslam, Mark Aitchinson (Dainese & AGV) and Tom Sykes. The other riders competing under the Dainese flag will be Niccolò Canepa (Dainese & AGV) and Federico Sandi....More

Valentino Rossi Interview...MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi spent some time answering questions from his fans in a Dainese-sponsored webcast this morning from Italy. The questions came via Facebook, with Rossi reading the questions from an iPad and answering the questions in Italian with a translator turning those answers into English.
