Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden crossed the finish line of the German GP in sixth and tenth places, respectively, after fighting throughout the race in a group of four or five riders. With just one practice session and the warm-up having taken place with no rain, the Ducati Team had little time to work on the dry settings that they used for today’s Grand Prix, but they both identified a number of adjustments that allowed them to consistently ride at a good pace. On Friday, the team will return to the track in the first practice sessions for their home GP at Mugello, where a one-day post-race test will take place on the following Monday, concluding three intense weeks of work. Valentino Rossi (Ducati Team) 6th “Today’s race went a little bit better. This weekend we decided to work on a setting that was similar to the one we used at Barcelona and Estoril, in order to suffer less with the rear tire. Although we weren’t able to try it much in the dry, it turned out to be pretty effective....More HERE Delete the scoop?

Starting next season, the German Grand Prix will be another "home" race for Ducati, assuming the antitrust authorities approve Audi's acquisition of the Italian marque. Indeed, some representatives from Audi are expected to attend the race this weekend, to get a first "taste" of MotoGP. "If I see someone, I will certainly say hello - joked Valentino Rossi - but a race weekend isn't the right place to talk about contracts, or about next season." No distractions for the Doctor then, who finished the dry FP1 in 11th place, and the wet FP2 in 5th. Delete the scoop?

Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden lapped near the top of the order on a damp Sachsenring on Friday. As has often been the case during the early part of the season, the first day of practice at the German Grand Prix was marked by extremely variable weather conditions, with a dry free practice followed by a wet afternoon session. Weather permitting, tomorrow will see the Ducati Team continuing its work on the dry setup with which Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi finished seventh and eleventh, respectively, in this morning’s session. As is typically the case on damp surfaces, both riders were very fast in the second free practice, regularly running near the top of the time chart. In the end, the Italian was fifth quickest, one position ahead of his American teammate Click HERE for the rider quotes Delete the scoop?

It won’t come as a big surprise considering Valentino Rossi’s struggle to make Ducati’s factory GP12 machine a consistent podium threat in the dry that the Italian won’t shed any tears if Sunday’s Sachsenring MotoGP clash takes place in the rain. This morning’s opening dry practice session in Germany was a familiar experience for the 33-year-old who finished down in 11th position. His best time of 1.23.481 was 1.124s off the fastest pace.
