Jamie Robinson Will Ride the Multistrada More Than 2,000 Miles Round Trip With a Stop in Colorado Springs to Compete in the Epic "Race to the Clouds"
Motorcycle adventurer and former British racing champion, Jamie Robinson, has teamed up with Ducati for an extreme demonstration of the 4-bikes-in-1 concept that defines the Multistrada 1200. In just over one week’s time, Robinson has traveled more than 1,000 miles on the new Multistrada – battling the city streets of Los Angeles, relaxing in cruise control across Nevada and taking a few shortcuts through the mountain roads of Utah – all before arriving at the starting line to compete in the 93rd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday, July 28.
The Multistrada holds the course record at Pikes Peak and has taken the top spot on the podium multiple times. Now, Robinson will put versatility of a virtually untouched Multistrada to the test and showcase how well rounded the bike truly is.
“I’ve raced all over the world on all types of motor bikes and the Multistrada is one of the fastest, comfortable and most capable motorcycles I’ve ever ridden,” said Robinson. “We thought that taking a Multistrada right out of the showroom, riding it all the way from Los Angeles to race in Pikes Peak and then riding back home, would be a great way to show the world what the bike can do!”

On Monday, Monterey County officials confirmed they are in negotiations with the International Speedway Corporation on a potential concession agreement to operate the raceway, which is a county park but has been associated with the nonprofit Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula since its inception.
Well, at least they can afford the safety improvements and the promoter fees.

And it seems like Ducati understands the importance of the Indian market, which is becoming increasingly important in the global premium motorcycle landscape, as the Italian marquee gifted Delhi the largest Ducati dealership in the world. You read that right, IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!

It is one of the oldest American traditions. In the great American landscape, we section off areas of land, till them up, and make them as flat as a couple of good 'ol boys can possibly make dirt, tie a rope around an oval, and then turn out a faction of speed-hungry young men to see who can go around the oval the fastest. Flat track racing has been around for nearly a century in an organized format, and I dare to say that it has been around since a land owner's buddy brought his motorcycle to the property. Racing and competition is in our blood.

Some pretty interesting historical Ducati content here. If you haven't read Paul's book, "Racing With The Gods" it's really worth a read...
Ducati sales are strong, mostly thanks to a lovely little bike called the Scrambler. Here's why it's the best bike for the way most people ride.
Having just got back from riding one in Italy I could not agree more with this.
MotoGP News. “It’s an incredible day for me and it is really special because this result is a surprise, because yesterday for me was really difficult and I did not have the pace to stay in front to fight for the podium' - Andrea Iannone.
